Vizag to be promoted as a major IT Hub by AP Government

Vizag to be promoted as a major IT Hub by AP Government:- The state cabinet of Andhra Pradesh approved the new Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Policy 2021-24 and this includes given several incentives for the IT firms to set up their companies and create employment in Andhra Pradesh. The new policy will come into force from April 1st next year and will continue till March 31st, 2024. This is expected to generate close to 55,000 direct jobs and 1.65 lakh indirect jobs for the people of the state in a span of three years. The state government is in plans to develop three major IT hubs to provide employment opportunities. AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy announced that Vizag would emerge as a major IT hub of the state.

IT companies are offered business reforms and incentives if they are ready to operate from Vizag. Vizag will get an Integrated Technology Park with Centres for Excellence, labs, working spaces, State Data Centres, Technology Research Universities and incubation centres to establish various firms and companies. Vizag is even promoted as a destination for IT education in the state. Full-time and part-time degree, diploma programmes are planned for fresh graduates along with working executives. The AP government is also considering Anantapur and Tirupati to be developed as IT concept cities of Andhra Pradesh. Fast approvals for setting up IT companies will be given by the government. There is good connectivity to airports and highways for these cities. The AP government will also allocate land and office spaces for the IT firms in these cities.
