Huzurabad Bypoll: Second Failure For T Harish Rao:- All the political parties of Telangana took the bypoll of Huzurabad prestigiously after the resignation of Etala Rajendar. He was sacked as the Health Minister of Telangana. The bypoll took place on October 30th and the counting of the votes took place yesterday. Etala Rajendar joined BJP and contested in the polls. Despite of aggressive promotions from the leading TRS, Etala emerged as the winner with a majority of 23,000 votes. Telangana Minister Harish Rao took the responsibility of the polls and he camped in Huzurabad from the past three months. This defeat is the second failure of Harish Rao after the party lost in the Dubbaka bypoll last year.

Harish Rao is a key leader in TRS and is the Irrigiation Minister of the state. After there were speculations that TRS is trying to downplay the importance of Harish Rao, TRS announced that Harish will look after the Dubbaka bypoll for the party. All the top leaders stood away from campaigning in the Dubbaka bypoll and BJP won the polls. This is the second bitter experience for Harish Rao after TRS was defeated in the prestigious Huzurabad bypoll. There are comments that KTR should have taken the responsibility of the Huzurabad instead of giving it to Harish Rao. Though Harish Rao worked hard and campaigned well, the people of the constituency had enough clarity and they voted for Etala Rajendar. Even the Dalit Bandhu scheme failed to make the magic for TRS.
