Siddipet Collector Quits IAS To Join TRS:- In a surprising move, P Venkatrami Reddy, the District Collector of Siddipet decided to quit his position opting out for voluntary retirement on Monday. He announced that he will join Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) soon. He submitted his resignation to the State's Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar at the BRKR Bhavan yesterday and it was approved immediately. After submitting his resignation, Venkatrami Reddy headed to Pragathi Bhavan and met TRS President, Chief Minister KCR. Venkatrami Reddy called KCR a visionary leader who made Telangana one of the best states in the country. There are talks that Venkatrami Reddy will be nominated as MLC or will be given an MLA ticket in the 2023 Assembly polls that will take place in December.
Venkatrami Reddy is an IAS officer from 2007 batch and has ten months of service left. He is expected to retire in September 2022. Venkatrami Reddy is close to KCR from the past few years. There are strong talks that Telangana Chief KCR is said to have finalized the candidates for the MLC elections to fill the six vacant seats. The names of the leaders will be declared by KCR officially very soon. The last date to file the nominations will end on Tuesday. There are talks that Gutha Sukender Reddy, MC Koti Reddy, Padi Kaushik Reddy, T Ravinder Rao, Akula Lalitha, Erolla Srinivas and Kadiyam Srihari are finalized candidates and some of the names may be changed in the last minute. There are also speculations that former Telangana Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary will be nominated as MLC under Governor's quota.
