KCR announces Rs 2 crore cash reward to Nikhat Zareen and Esha Singh:- Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced a cash reward of Rs 2 crores for world boxing champion Nikhat Zareen and shooter Esha Singh. KCR announced that both Nikhat Zareen and Esha Singh will get land for constructing houses in Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills. Nikhat Zareen is the first from Telangana and South India to become a world champion in the category of 52 kgs. Esha Singh won three gold medals in ISSF Junior World Cup that took place in Germany. Nikhat Zareen and Esha Singh along with footballer Guguloth Soumya received a huge reception in Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and they were later felicitated.

The government of Telangana awarded Nikhat Zareen in 2014 with Rs 50 lakh for her training purpose. KCR announced the cash reward after they performed well across the international platforms making the state proud. Both these athletes are from Nizamabad district. Nikhat Zareen is named as the World Champion after she won by 5-0 in the final. Nikhat Zareen is the fifth Indian woman to win the title. Nikhat Zareen revealed that her next aim is of an Olympic medal. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A Revanth Reddy announced a reward of Rs 5 lakhs for Nikhat Zareen.
