Telangana Government Slashes Booze Prices:- Telangana state government has accepted the proposal of Telangana State Beverages Corporation Limited to slash the special excise cess (SEC) rates on Indian-made and Foreign made liquor (excluding beer).

The new prices are to be applicable for the liquor stocks dispatched on Friday from the bottling units. The units going to be stickered with the revised MRP on their bottles. The official order also stated that the bottles labelled should not cover the sticker of the MRP declaration made by the manufacturer.

Revised Rates :

The price of 90ml and 180ml of liquor bottles will be reduced to Rs 10/-

375ml bottle price will be reduced to Rs 20/-, while on 750ml bottle, price will be less to Rs 40/-.

There was a telephone conference held by Prohibition and excise commissioner Sarfaraz Ahamad with all the district excise officials regarding the same. There is a flow of illegally imported liquor in Telangana because of the high excise taxes in the state. To restrict that, the Telangana government has to take necessary actions, the price reduction is one among them.

In the new order, there will be an exception given for the organizers of bars to take stock as per their need rather than buying only the full bottles. As per sources, there was also an instruction given to the officers to increase the sale of liquor from May.
