Ahead of elections, 17 EC officials visit Telangana:- On Tuesday, 17 election officials reached Hyderabad to prepare for the upcoming Telangana state assembly elections. The team is headed by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar. Following the protocol, State Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj received the team at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
The team is going to look after the security agencies for the smooth conduction of assembly elections in the state. The team is also going to hold meetings with the enforcement agencies and will also meet Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari and the Director General of Police Anjani Kumar.
Police officials from all the 33 districts will have a meeting and they will project detailed presentations to the delegation. On Thursday the officials will address a press conference, which will be addressed by the CEC Rajiv Kumar.
Congress leaders Uttam Kumar Reddy, AICC secretary D Sridhar Babu and G Niranjan have submitted their representation to the CEC, claiming that there are severe irregularities in the electoral draft and voter enrollment.
CEC is going to have an inquiry over the Form-6 applications as there are in huge numbers, which is abnormal. A vigilant officer is going to keep an eye on this sort of mischief. Election commission officers will also look into the voter list of Andhra Pradesh residents, who have their votes in Telangana. They are going to make sure that the voters will have only one vote, that is in one state either in Andhra Pradesh or Telangana.
