BRS picks up T Padma Rao Goud for Secunderabad:- On Saturday, the BRS announced that T Padma Rao Goud, their MLA from Secunderabad, will be their candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao, who has been with the party since its beginning, described Padma Rao as a dedicated and experienced leader. After consulting with senior party members and MLAs, the decision to select Padma Rao as the candidate was made. It is worth noting that Chandrashekar Rao emphasized Padma Rao's loyalty to the party, especially since Padma Rao will be competing against Danam Nagender, who won the last Assembly elections from Khairtabad on a BRS ticket but recently switched to the Congress party. The BRS has accused Nagender of betraying the party and has also requested his disqualification as an MLA for changing party affiliations.
Secunderabad is gearing up for an interesting battle in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The Bharatiya Rashtriya Samithi (BRS) has nominated G Kishan Reddy, who is currently serving as the constituency's MP, Union Minister, and state party president. This means that there will be three strong contenders vying for the seat - an incumbent MP and two sitting MLAs. The BRS has already revealed 13 candidates for the elections, but is yet to announce its nominees for Hyderabad, Bhongir, Nalgonda, and Peddapalli constituencies.
