Tamilisai Soundararajan's sensational comments on BRS Government:- Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, the ex-Governor of Telangana state, has once again asserted that her phone conversations were monitored during the BRS administration, and she had valid reasons to believe this to be true. In the ongoing investigation into the unlawful phone-tapping conducted by a select group of police officials under the BRS government, one of the more grave allegations is that Dr. Soundararajan was among the targets. The Hyderabad police, who have been interrogating multiple suspects, including high-ranking police officials who have been apprehended in connection with the case, have reportedly obtained information regarding the BRS government's surveillance of the former Governor's phone calls.
According to the findings presented by the city police, which specifically mentioned that even Raj Bhavan's phones were not exempt from this intrusion, Dr. Soundararajan stated to Deccan Chronicle on Tuesday: "I have strong grounds to assert that my phones were tapped during my tenure as Governor. The statements I made previously regarding this issue were true then and remain true today." She further mentioned that when she initially raised concerns about her phone being tapped in November 2022, "the previous government disregarded my claims, dismissing them as politically motivated remarks."
It should be remembered that during the latter part of his second term, the relationship between the BRS government, led by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, and Dr Soundararajan deteriorated significantly. The BRS leaders, including ministers, would often criticize her, and Dr Soundararajan strongly objected to the government's failure to adhere to the proper protocol for the Governor's office. The party would dismiss her concerns as politically motivated due to her previous affiliation with the BJP before becoming Governor. Moreover, I became aware that my phones were being monitored during this time.
