Veteran journalist and former chairman of Prasar Bharati MV Kamath died on Thursday morning in his native place Manipal in Karnataka. Kamath was 93 and has been hospitalised for the past few days. A close relative has confirmed his death.
According to the sources, Kamath was suffering with a old age problem and was admitted in hospital for treatment. The last rites will be performed at Kamath's village and close relatives will take part in this. Kamath started his career in 1946 as a reporter in the Free Press Journal in Bombay and later got fame with this writing. He wrote over 45 book in his career including history of five banks.
