Rs.3 lakh to 3 cr: 12 cars influenced 2015

Keeping other industries aside, 2015 is definitely a very good one for the automotive industry in India.

In 2015, several new models in various segments and rate cut on car loans, sales went up by more than 11%.

Especially, there are 12 new model cars, which showed a great influence on the auto industry in 2015. Let us know about them.

Ford Figo Aspire

Ford Figo is a stand-out winner in Sedans, sub-4 metre category. It is beautiful, refined and cleverly priced by the Ford, who might have now come to a conclusion in implementing their formula, in a better way.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno

Attempting to go premium through their Nexa showrooms and some ‘premium cars’, Maruti Suzuki had a busy year. Baleno, was not liked by a few, saying that, it is similar to Swift, while a few others felt that, the 1.2L engine for such chunky machine was a bit underpowered.

S-Cross is nothing but an idea of a crossover to take on a compact SUV. That is the reason, Maruti Suzuki failed. Because you only need an ace card to trump a king!

Mahindra TUV 300

Except for the fact, TUV 300, comes from a brand, which made XUV500 and KUV100. there is no reason to like the car. Mahindra might have introduced 300, just to fill the  long gap.

Hyundai Creta

Being the only new launch of the year, Creta bagged the coveted Indian Car of the year (ICOTY) award. Than anyone else, Hyundai has more reasons to end the year on a high note. The attractive looks and huge marketing, helped this “perfect SUV” cross the disastrous name barrier that clouted over it.

Renault Lodgy

Maruti Suzuki brought an MPV with Ertiga, that is difficult to emulate. Similar to that,  Honda’s Mobilio and Renault created some ripples with Lodgy. The car was more practical indeed, only if they had better stylists and a name and brand like Maruti Suzuki in the country, to sell more.

Fiat Punto Abarth

In July Abarth shook Fiat up from its slumber, with Abarth 595 Competizione. After the Rs 30-lakh worth “scorpion” [the logo and the identity of Abarth] could not bite many in India, Fiat thought to raise the mercury with Punto. This car gets a new boosted engine and new racing decals enough, to turn some heads, on the roads across the country.

Chevrolet Trailblazer

To experience a king size MPV, Trailblazer would be the best one to go for. It beats several rivals, but not a good play for Chevrolet which has not seen sales in the green, since long.
