CEO alert over CV discrepancies

Well Scott Thomson’s sudden and infamous exit from Yahoo did put the elite world in panic. But the under truth is that CEO (if not all atleast some) do tamper to some extent. The resume gets edited in simple terminology for the benefit of the pursuing job. The predominant areas where the tampering occurs according to experts are in the salary section and in the short job tenures. In the first case they add unknown heads in their pay slips and in the second case they carefully avoid mention of short stints of assignments. The first one is to lure dream compensation and the second for not being treated as a short term player.

Apart from these two issues many of them even tamper with the roles and responsibilities section on their previous assignments. On the whole there is some hiding and some over adding that forms the part of an embellished CV, say experts. An expert is quoted by a prominent media as, "At least three out of 10 executives misstate information on compensation. Another area that gets inflated is roles and responsibilities."

Finally the concluding point that needs to be addressed out here is Scott was chosen by the ailing Yahoo was on terms of strength in career performance and not on his academics. The Techno giant felt that with him at the helm the company could make a turnaround strategically. But unfortunately the four months tenure of Scott ended in a controversy.  (With Inputs from Internet- Aarkay)
