Social networking major Facebook Inc was reportedly planning to acquire advertising technology of Microsoft so that it would be easy for FB to display their ads on other websites. This reports indicated that talks were underway regarding the same. The name of the ad services of Microsoft was said to be Atlas Solutions, which MS acquired in 2007.

In case, Facebook acquires this advertising solutions, then it would be in a position to give a tough competition to Google's Double Click service, experts opined. Although our sources confirmed about the negotiations, they however didn't have any clue as to how much average cost for acquisition was.  It has to be mentioned here that out of the total revenue that Facebook generates, over 80 per cent comes from third-party ads.
