Luxury car major, Mercedes Benz has announced that it would be increasing the prices of its cars in India by three per cent effective from January 14. The decision was made in order to meet the higher costs in the country, read the statement released by the company officials. The officials have also mentioned that many factors exerted pressure on them that included rise in input cost and high interest rates.
Here are the complete details on the prices to be increased on different variants.
-
Hatch back: B-class : one per cent
-
Sedan: C class and D Class: 1.5 %
-
Sedan: S class: three per cent
Notably, Audi already increased the prices of its vehicles and BMW was also in a plan to shoot the prices of its luxury cars.
It may be noted that many people in the country mostly use S class and D class sedan variants. Now that the percentage of cost on these variants are going to be increased more compared to B-class, the auto experts said that people might take a step ahead and purchase B class cars. However, some of them said that many affluent people don't prefer hatch backs. Anyway, let us wait for a couple of months to find out which class is being preferred most by the people.
