Mallya who has been silent all these days about the revival plans seemed to have succumbed to the pressure being mounted by his employees who threatened him at Delhi. Answering the angry voices in a mail, he said that he would start the Kingfisher Airlines soon by summer with a 650 Cr fund that he would be getting from the parent group UB Group. Although, it has addressed that the problem would be solved temporarily, KFA is yet to attract a potential investor. The dues would not be cleared anytime soon either.
He earlier proposed a two-part revival plan to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in which he plans to start operations with 7 aircraft initially and would soon increase the number to 21 in the coming four months. "The second part is a full-scale rehabilitation of our airline growing to 57 aircraft within 12 months of recapitalization," Mallya said defending the Rs 16,000 debt that he accrued for the airlines.
He also added in the mail, "Please rest assured that we are in discussion with multiple investors and remain confident that we will secure a deal”. Banks earlier had threatened him about the pending loans but now he mentions in the mail that the Banks are all for KFA back in business as he mentioned, "There has been no discussion at all on recall of loans, enforcement of securities... On the contrary, banks have expressed their keen desire to see Kingfisher fly again."
However, it is clear that he, Mallya, has crossed an unacceptable limit testing the patience of the regulator and his own employees who have lost their sense of security.
