Rupee is having one of its merry times despite a slow growth after it rose for the third day consecutively. On Tuesday, the early trade has recorded another slight peak in rupee value taking it up 13 paise to Rs 54.43 against dollar. Interbank Foreign Exchange market witnessed a huge sale of US currency by exporters leading to the slight gain in the rupee value.
The equity market too had its share of gains in the opening of the day, domestically. Euro overpowerd the dollar in the overseas markets ultimately helping the rupee in the forex, the dealers said.
Yesterday's gains in the value were 25 paise taking rupee to Rs 54.56 against dollar yesterday. Running on similar tracks, the BSE benchmark Sensex has also seen a spurt of 73.45 points taking the final figures up by 0.40% to 18,511.24 today.
