RBI Urges Customers To Opt For Digital Payment Modes:- The Reserve Bank of India urged the people of the country to opt for digital modes of payment which are quite safe and convenient for transactions. They are more important to use digital mode of payments at this time of lockdown to support social distancing and to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Reserve Bank of India also launched a campaign in the public interest to promote the digital transactions as it is convenient and safe. Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan is named as the brand ambassador for the campaign.

RBI reminded that the options like IMPS, NEFT, UPI and BBPS are available round the clock for transactions. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das appealed to the public through a video message about the importance of digital payments. There are restrictions imposed across the country due to coronavirus and the death toll in the country as per the reports is 169. The total number of cases crossed 6000. Earlier, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi several times urged the people of the nation to opt for digital payments. He even implemented the same after the process of demonetization.
