Amazon, Flipkart and Others Served Notices for Selling Hazardous Products:- The Central Consumer Protection Authority has sent notices to five e-commerce platforms of the country for selling hazardous products on their platforms. The agency kept a vigil on these platforms. The notices are served to Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm Mall, ShopClues and Snapdeal. Nidhi Khare, the Chief Commissioner of CCPA informed the same. The Central Consumer Protection Authority also issued notices to the sellers who were into the business of selling hazardous goods and products.

All the e-commerce platforms were given the opportunity to hear the cases in their final shape. Rs 1 lakh penalty has been imposed on the party that is found guilty. The CCPA also said that most of the products had fake reviews that are related to food, goods and beverages. The CCPA is now using a new technology so that the users can only post genuine reviews. The complaints on the e-commerce platforms have increased by 30-40 percent in the last four years. CCPA is formed to protect, promote and enforce the rights of the consumers. The agency also conducts a thorough investigation based on the complaints and about the unsafe goods and services.
