Tata Hexa to Get Four Driving Modes

Revealing the specifications of the soon-to-be-launched Tata Hexa, Tata Motors has also announced that the new Hexa will have four driving modes. It will also be called the "Super Drive Modes", which will give the driver four driving modes to choose from.

The four driving modes are the Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road driving modes. The Hexa will come powered by a 2.2-litre diesel motor mated to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options.

The modes can be switched using a rotary knob dial, found in the centre console. Tata Motors says that the driving modes can be used to control the vehicle's driving performance as well ambient lighting, etc. It will also change features like the electronic stability program (ESP) and also the instrument cluster. Besides the four driving modes, the automatic transmission variant gets racecar mapping for improved performance. Now, let's take a quick look at what the four driving modes can do:

Auto Mode can customize your riding experience and functions like traction based on the road conditions and the kinds of terrains rode on. The controls get activated on their own, depending upon the roads. This mode will ensure stability and traction at all times.

Comfort Mode enhances comfort during long distance travels on highways, switching the engine performance to offer power output that will be more apt for cruising.

Dynamic Mode can help in situations, where it requires an extra push to ride smooth, while ESP will kick in later.

Rough Road Mode enhances the vehicle's off-roading capabilities, while riding off-road. It provides improved braking and wheel lockups, while the surface is slippery.
