It went as same with two prospective Prime Ministers!
Congress party's unannounced but deemed PM candidate Rahul Gandhi and BJP's announced PM candidate were equally given notices by the Election Commission on the utterances in their public speeches during their election campaigns.
First it was Rahul to get a notice from EC for violating the code of conduct of elections when he talked about the communal violence. EC slapped a notice on Rahul Gandhi to explain why action should not be initiated on him for violating the code of conduct for which Rahul promptly took a week’s time on the last day given by the EC’s notice.
Similarly Narendra Modi was issued a notice for his calling the Congress party’s election symbol as Khooni Panja- murderous claw. After Congress party’s complaint, EC has taken a serious view of this remark as the election symbol is allotted by EC to Congress party. EC says it is a clear violation of election code of conduct.
Today is the last day given by EC to Narendra Modi to explain why an action should not be initiated on him! For that BJP has asked EC for a week’s time to give an explanation on the objections raised.
