The birthday of the second President of India Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan is celebrated nationwide as Teachers day. Dr Radhakrishnan a teacher by profession, pioneered the Indian education system and was a pride to the profession. On this day the great soul is remembered and as an honour to him, the teachers who had created an impact on student's progress are revered. This day is the most enjoyed school day in the metros. The student union takes over the administration and conducts the school the entire day which generally concludes with a sumptuous party by the students to the teachers.

The whole day is filled with fun and frolic. Teachers sit in classes while the students conduct the classes. The day moves at abreast with children dressed like elders walk through the corridors adding glitter to the celebrations. On the government side Teacher Days stamps are issued, of course with a hike in the costs. For students the cost was earlier 0.50 ps and today it costs Rs 5. on the other hand for the teachers the stamp is now costing Rs 25, in comparison to earlier Rs 5.

Another importance of the day, is that world's greatest cricketer John Wisden was born in 1826. One of the best fast bowlers of his era, running in with a relaxed action followed by very accurate deliveries. Wisden was a good batsman as well, with an extremely straight bat. He launched the Wisden Cricketers' Almanack, in 1864. this book became the  bible of cricket. Two great people born on the same day left an indelible mark on the global audience, in their own fields.
