Tata Motors MD dies, shares down

Tata Motors' Managing Director Karl Slym died on Sunday in Bangkok after a fall from a hotel’s 22nd floor in Yannawa district. The 51 year old Mr. Slym was in Bangkok to attend a meeting of the Board of Directors of Tata Motors Thailand Ltd. However, the police claim it as a suicide as in their preliminary investigation they found a suicide note in Slym's room in which he is residing. Mr. Slym's wife was also there with him in the room but was shocked about his death.

Soon after this news came out, Tata Motors share fell by 3.2% in the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and they could be more down by the end of the day say Trade analysts. Tata Motors Chairman Cyrus P Mistry said, “I am deeply saddened to inform you about the untimely and tragic demise of our company’s Managing Director, Karl Slym.”
