The future of the second edition of the Hyderabad E-Prix Formula E race, scheduled for February 10, 2024, seems uncertain. Formula E organizers have expressed concern after receiving official communication from the Government of Telangana, which may jeopardize the event. They have reached out to the local government to seek clarification.

Earlier this year, in February, Hyderabad played host to a round of the FIA Formula E championship, a thrilling competition featuring electric single-seater cars. The race took place on the city's streets near the picturesque Hussain Sagar Lake. In October, an agreement was reached to hold the race again in 2024, but recent elections brought a new party into power in the state.

In their official statement, Formula E disclosed, "Discussions are currently underway between Formula E and the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department, now under the authority of the new Government of Telangana. These discussions pertain to the Host City Agreement signed on October 30, 2023, and the planned staging of the Hyderabad E-Prix on Saturday, February 10, 2024."

Formula E has expressed concerns about the upcoming Hyderabad E-Prix, as they have received a letter indicating that the race may not be able to proceed as scheduled. The organisers have been in discussions with the new leadership of the Government of Telangana since the recent elections. This event is significant as it is the first FIA event in India since the 2013 Indian GP Formula One race, and in September, India also hosted its first-ever MotoGP race at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida.
