Ingredients:
2 Cups Basmati rice
A pinch of Saffron (kesar)
12 Cashewnuts
4 tbsp Ghee
20 Almonds
1/4 tbsp Nutmeg powder
1/2 tbsp Green cardamom powder
1/2 cup Sugar
1/4 cup Milk
25-30 Raisins
Method
1. Wash rice twice and soak it in water for half an hour and then drain the water.
2. Take a pan and heat ghee.
3. Fry almonds, cashewnuts and raisins in the pan.
4. After frying slice almonds and cashewnuts thinly.
5. In the same pan add rice and sauté gently for two to three minutes.
6. Add nutmeg powder and green cardamom powder.
7. In another pan boil milk and sugar adding saffron.
8. Add to rice to the milk with three and a half cups of hot water.
9. Add raisins. Stir once.
10. Cover and cook on low heat till done.
11. Garnish with almonds and cashewnuts and Serve hot.
