How to prepare Tangy and Nutritious Fox-nut Chaat?:- Makhana Chaat is a nutritious and tasty dish which has nutritious rich fox-nuts. This makes an excellent teamtime snack which is simple and tasty. Roasted Phool makhana (Fox Nuts) are mixed in a creamy yoghurt sauce that also comes with tamarind jaggery, green chutney and spices. Phool Makhana chaat is sweet and spicy. The dish is gluten free and will leave you satisfied for a long time.


Makhana / Fox Nuts - 3 cups
Roasted peanuts - ¼ cup
Onion - 1 chopped
Tomato - 1, chopped
Boiled potato - 1, peeled and chopped
Black salt - ½ tsp,
Roasted cumin powder - ¼ tsp
Chaat masala - ¼ tsp,
Red chilli powder - as per taste
Green chutney
Tamarind Chutney
Homemade sev - for servings
Coriander leaves - ¼ cup
Curd- ½ cup
Lemon - 1
Ghee- 2 spoon


Melt ghee and add Makhanas in a pan and gently roast them on a low fale for 5 minutes. Continue to stir them and crush a phool makhaana to check if it is completely roasted. Move the roasted makhana into a platter and make it cool. Take the same pan and melt some ghee, add some red chilli powder, chat powder, turmeric, black salt. Toss for 2 minutes and allow the Makhana to reach the room temperature. Combine onions, spicy makhana, tomato, coriander leaves, green sauce, peanuts, sweet chutney, curd, chat masala, lime juice and mix them in a large bowl. Addd diced boiled potato and mix them completely. The phool makhana bhel is ready.
