An NRI from Canada,  Gurprit Singh Johal on Thursday handed over 4 crore rupees cheque to Priyank Bharati for promoting the hockey in the country. It is known that Priyank is the president of Olympian Surjit Singh Memorial Hockey Society. Gurprit Singh has said that he was fond of sports and promote the sports events. Since he originally hails from India and hockey is the national game of our country he has handed over the cheque for the promotion of hockey.

Meanwhile, Priyank Bharati has said that the gesture by Gurpreet would definitely help the promotion of the game. It would also motivate other NRIs to come forward and promote the national game.

Gurpreet has said that he would persuade other NRI friends to come forward and make their contributions. Its great that people like Gurpreet are showing their gratitude for promoting the games in the country. Hats off to all such NRIs who never forget Mother India. (Phani)
