The Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams has conducted SrinivasaKalyanam (performance of holy wedding ceremony of Lord Venkateshwara Swamy) at Dr. Pepper Arena grounds in Dallas.
The TTD board member Cheruku Muthyam Reddy has took part in the event. Over 200 volunteers who are not affiliated to any associations have worked day and night to ensure that arrangements were in place.
The special attraction of Srinivari Kalyanam is that the deities were brought from Tirumala and kalyanam was performed on them according to aghama shastra (Tirumala temple procedures).
In fact, not just Srinivasa Kalyanam but all the sevas that are performed at Tirumala such as Supranahatam, Thomala Seva and Ashtadalapadapadmaradhana were also performed at Pepper Arena. The best part was that the events are free and anyone willing to take part in the seva was welcomed. Mahaprasadam of Srivaru, Tiruchanuru Ammavari kumkuma (vermillion) and Srivari Laddu prasadam was distributed among the devotees for free.
Meanwhile, Cheruku Muthyam Reddy who took part in the event has said that TTD would be ready to make deities for all the upcoming temples in US and said TTD would bear 50 per cent of the cost incurred.
A large number of people took part in the Kalyanotsavam and made it a grand success. (Phani)
