Minister of Overseas (Indian affairs), Vayalar Ravi asked Indians in Kuwait to attend the 11th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas next year. This celebration is going to take place in January 2013 at Cochin. The specialty of this event is that it would focus on NRI issues in the state. Vayalar, who was in Kuwait to promote Pravasi Bharatiya Divas event, has said that participants in Pravasi Bharatiya Divas would get a chance for the participants to interact with various chief ministers in the country.
After inviting NRIs in Kuwait, Vayalar Ravi met several Indian doctors and had a brief discussion with them on several matter pertaining to the welfare of Indian doctors over there. Later, he attended a dinner hosted by Indian Business Council last night.
Besides inviting NRIs for the event, Vayalar Ravi explained the measures taken by the overseas ministry for ensuring welfare of Indians abroad. It may be noted that Government of India has been arranging Pravasi Bharatiya Divas every year since 2003.
