Five Signs that your Heart Health is Deteriorating

Five Signs that your Heart Health is Deteriorating:- Heart attack turned out to be a common one in this modern age and there is no age limit for heart strokes. A weak heart cannot pump enough blood and thus the body cannot perform its function. Coronary heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes are the reasons for your heart not functioning properly. When your heart is weak, it can tend to pump the blood even faster by compensating for its loos. This thickens the heart muscle and will have an impact on the heart health. Swelling in the legs, chest pressure, chronic fatigue and shortness of breath are some of the symptoms of the weak heart.

"The heart can become weak due to multiple factors. There can be two warning zones concerning a weak heart. First, having a cardiac condition that is known to be a risk factor for developing heart issues like hypertension, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, diabetes mellitus, anaemia etc. At this time, we need to educate the patients about the risk of heart failure and the importance of controlling the risk factors. The second situation is in patients who are unaware of any underlying condition or has one of the known risk factors which has progressed to develop heart muscle weakness," told Dr Gopi A, Director - Interventional Cardiology, Fortis Hospital, Cunningham Road, Bangalore.

If you are gaining weight, breathlessness or easy fatigability, please visit a doctor. Chest pain and breathing difficulties are the major signs. It is always advised to have frequent checkups about the heart health or immediately visit a doctor if you have any of the above symptoms.
