Pakistan has registered its second successive defeat in the World Cup and the chances to make it the next round are now tougher. Against West Indies, Pakistan were outplayed in all the department and the fielding was below standards which turned to be too costly to win the match. It was Pak captain Misbah who won the toss and chose to bowl first. Though West Indies made an ordinary start, Darren Bravo, Samuels, Ramdin, Simmons and Andrew Russell made their contributions to the team in posting a big score. Especially Russell who blasted the Pakistan bowlers all rounder the ground in the finals overs which pushed the West Indies score beyond 300 runs.
Chasing the massive total, Pakistan made disastrous start. The first four overs, the top four batsmen were dismissed which made things difficult and since, Pakistan could not strike back the West Indies bowlers. Sohaib Maqsood and Umar Akmal tried their best to rescue their team. Both the batsmen completed half centuries but could carry the score further. Shahid Afridi also could help the team and in the end Pakistan lost the match by a huge margin of 150 runs.
