Former Pakistan captain Inzamam Ul-Haq would be the Afghanistan coach for the next two years and regarding this, he even entered into a contract with the Afghanistan Cricket Board.

Kabir Khan, the former coach of the Afghanistan team, who is also a national selector in Pakistan, has officially confirmed this news.

“I spoke to Inzamam and he has accepted a two-year contract with the Afghanistan team, which will do them a lot of good,” Kabir said.  

“Inzamam is satisfied with what he saw in Zimbabwe and believes that the Afghanistan team has good cricket talent and can move ahead,” Kabir said.

Inzamam played 120 Tests and 388 ODIs for Pakistan and also agreed to be a batting consultant, for the recent tour of Zimbabwe, where Afghanistan scored a historic series win.

Afghanistan had aggressive bowlers and fielders and there should be an improvement in their batting too. Inzaman would be capable of handling all these flaws well, being the coach for Afghanistan team.  
 
Speaking about it, Kabir said, “Inzamam is a cricket great and he can do a lot to improve their batting standards. And his caliber and stature is such he will remain above any petty politics, which have hurt Afghanistan cricket.”

Two years ago, Inzamam was offered to be the coach for Pakistan, but as few of the financial matters did not work out well with the Pakistan board, he rejected the offer.
