India all out for 201 in Mohali Test

India is all out for a total of 201 runs in India VS South Africa test series match held today at Mohali.

On the opening day of the first Test at the Punjab Cricket Association stadium here today, the left arm spinner Dean Elgar picked up 4 wickets as India was all out for 201 in their first innings. In eight overs Elgar returned figures of 4/22.

Opener Murali Vijay was the highest scorer for the hosts with 75. In the total of 27 overs bowled, India only managed to score 82 runs, but gave away three big wickets, opener Shikhar Dhawan (0), Cheteshwar Pujara (31) and Kohli (1).

Shikhar Dhawan was the first wicket to go, on the 10th ball of the innings, as a back of the length delivery from Philander, was edged straight to Hashim Amla, the South Africa captain.

As a second wicket partnership, opener Murali Vijay continued the innings with 63 runs partnership score.

When the partnership is building further, Elgar found leg before wicket of Pujara. In just another four more balls, Kohli was bowled for 1.

In a 5-day match, it is unfortunate to know that, India is leaving the pavilion on the day 1 itself. The similar incident took place in 2009 and again, it is now, that is after 6 years, India had to witness the defeat on the first day.

Scores in brief:

India 1st innings: 201 all out in 68 overs (M Vijay 75, C Pujara 31; D Elgar 4/22)
