Shoaib Akhtar, former Pakistani fast bowler, has expressed his wish of playing a cricket series with India in December.

Speaking about the rivalry between India and Pakistan in the past, Akhtar said, “There have been ups and down in relations between India and Pakistan. It has been a roller-coaster. But I feel the relations are improving now.”    

Akhtar confidently said that, the proposed bilateral series between India and Pakistan in UAE next month will take place as planned.  

“Eventually we will come to the point when we will sit together, put our hands together and work things out. Insha Allah yeh series hogi (this series will happen). I am sure Pakistan and India will play this year,” Shoaib Akhtar said.

“I feel that the two great nations sit together, circumstances and situations improve and the next 70 years should be prosperous than how it has been so far.”  

Indians and Pakistanis admire their cricketers and develop a lot of love on their favorite players, regardless of which country, they are playing for. I have a huge following in both  India and Pakistan and even Sachin, Sourav Ganguly and Mahendra Singh Dhoni have many fans in Pakistan too, along with India.  

However, it is known that, Sachin earlier said that, it is upto the governments of two countries, to decide whether India and Pakistan should play against each other or not.  

“Also I think that the relations between two countries need to improve. If the governments feel that this cricket is the ideal way to move forward and the cricket Boards feels the same, I do not see any reason why we should not play,” Sachin said.
