Seam Bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar Gears Up For IPL This Season

Seam Bowler, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who played an important role in Sunrisers success last IPL (Indian Premier League), is all geared up for the upcoming challenge, this IPL season.

With the new season set to kick off today, Bhuvneshwar, realized that the road ahead is not easy. He stated that, “Every season is a challenge and all the teams are equally good.”

“We are ready for the new season, and hopefully, we will defend our title,” he said on the eve of their first match.

Last year in the IPL season, he picked up 23 wickets, to emerge the purple cap holder with highest wickets to his name. Ashish Nehra and Mustafizur Rahman, were the other players, who feared opposition, with their bowling attack.

The seam bowler, also felt that his success, in the last year, was because of his combination with Nehra and Mustafizur. He said, “I played a lot with Nehra at international level as well. He has good experience, and talks to the juniors in the side and shares his experience. So bowling alongside him, has helped me a lot. We make strategies and discuss what we are going to do.”

“Mustafizur has done so well in the last year. We are definitely going to miss him. It is also an opportunity for the youngsters,” said Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Bhuvneshwar, further added that, everyone has to play up to their potential, if they have to win the title. “We have a good batting, bowling line-up and also a good fielding unit.”

People say that, “we have the best bowling line-up in the IPL but if we do not deliver that, in a particular match we cannot win. Our challenge is to deliver the same performance,” he said.

“Traveling across the country for matches, is going to be a bigger challenge. And more than the playing part, the difficult part is traveling,” he said.

He concluded saying, “we play only 14 matches, but we travel a lot. We travel everywhere, not just through the direct flights, but sometimes, take two or three.”

“So keeping fresh and staying fit is challenging,” added Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
