New Zealand Registers 4 Wickets Win Against India in the First ODI:- After a whitewash by the Indians in the T20 series, New Zealand started the ODI series on a positive note. The first one-day international took place in Seddon Park, Hamilton and New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl first. Team India registered a huge total of 347/4 in their 50 overs. Shreyas Iyer (103) managed to lead the team and KL Rahul (88 not out) has been outstanding in the last overs. Virat Kohli has been decent with his 51. Tim Southee (2/85) and Ish Sodhi (1/27) managed to get the wickets for New Zealand.
Chasing a huge total of 348, New Zealand was extremely confident and dominated the show. Ross Taylor (109 not out), Henry Nicholls (78), Tom Latham (69) managed to get a comfortable victory for New Zealand and chased the total with 11 balls left. New Zealand lost 6 wickets in their chase. Kuldeep Yadav (2/84), Mohammed Shami (1/63) and Shardul Thakur (1/80) bagged the wickets. The second ODI takes place on Saturday.
