IPL's Governing Council Crucial Meeting on August 2nd:- The BCCI has been successful in not shelving the prestigious IPL 2020 after the franchises mounted pressure despite of the coronavirus pandemic. BCCI is waiting for the final decision from the Indian government to conduct IPL 2020 in UAE between September 19th and November 8th. With the postponement of T20 World Cup in Australia, BCCI decided to go ahead with IPL 2020. IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel made it clear that IPL 2020 will be held in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah on the announced dates and they are waiting for approval from the government of India.

As per the update, the IPL's Governing Council will meet on August 2nd to finalize all the rules, schedules and other guidelines to be followed. The arrangements would be made after the schedule will be finalized in this meeting. All the franchises will send their teams to check about the facilities, security, environment and other concerns before the players land in UAE. The accommodation plans and the practice arrangements too will be verified by these teams. As per the Dubai rules, there is no need to be in quarantine if the person carries a COVID-19 test report. A series of coronavirus tests would be made when the tournament commences and random tests are planned.
