Boxing Day Test: India Registers 8 Wicket Victory:- After a disastrous performance in the first test with Australia, Team India is back with a bang in the Boxing Day test match that took place in MCG. Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. Australia went all out for 195 in their first innings and India made a remarkable total of 326 runs in their first innings. Australian batsmen could not stand before the pace and pressure of the Indian bowlers in their second innings. Australia registered a total of 200 runs in their second innings.

Cameron Green (45) and Matthew Wade (40) are the top scorers for the side. Mohammed Siraj (3/37) and Ravindra Jadeja (2/28) have been outstanding among the Indian bowlers. Chasing a total of 70, India lost two wickets in their second innings and completed the chase comfortably. Shubman Gill (35 not out) and Ajinjya Rahane (27 not out) made things easier for India. Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins took one wicket each. India levels the series with Australia as of now in the four tests Gavaskar-Border Trophy. Indian captain Ajinkya Rahane has been awarded with the Player of the Match award. The third test between India and Australia starts on January 7th.
