First ODI: India thrashes England by 66 runs:- After reporting a huge victory in the T20 series against England, India started with a victory in the first one-day international that took place in Pune yesterday. England won the toss and elected to field first. Indian batsmen's impressive show brought a huge total of 317 for the loss of 5 wickets in their 50 overs. Shikhar Dhawan (98) missed his ton and is the top scorer for the side. Virat Kohli (56) has been decent and is supported by KL Rahul (62 not out) and Krunal Pandya (58 not out) in the last overs. Indian batsmen have been outstanding in the last ten overs. Ben Stokes (3/34), Mark Wood (2/75) and Moeen Ali (0/28) have been decent with the ball.

Chasing a huge target, England batsmen opened on a strong note but tumbled down at the crucial time of their innings. After losing quick wickets, England could not recover back because of the mounting run-rate and pressure. England went all out for 251 in 42.1 overs and lost the match by 66 runs. Jonny Bairstow (94) is the top scorer for the side while Jason Roy (46) and Moeen Ali (30) are the other top scorers for England. Prasidh Krishna (4/54), Shardul Thakur (3/37) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/30) are good with the ball among the Indian bowlers. Shikhar Dhawan has been named as the Player of the Match for the Indian side. The second ODI will take place in Pune on March 26th.
