IPL 2021 suspended due to Coronavirus spread:- The coronavirus is having a toll on the country badly and most of the states are heading for a lockdown all over. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today announced that IPL 2021 has been suspended after several players along with the support staff are tested positive for coronavirus. An official statement has been issued today by the BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla and several PILs are filed across the country about the suspension of IPL for the year after the spread of coronavirus is huge. The Mumbai High Court is expected to hear the filed PIL about the same on Thursday. Yesterday's match between Kolkata Knight Riders and the Royal Challengers Bangalore was cancelled after several players are tested positive for coronavirus.

Kolkata Knight Rider's spinner Varun Chakravarthy and bowler Sandeep Warrier are tested positive for coronavirus recently. Amit Mishra and Wriddhiman Saha are tested positive for coronavirus today. A meeting was staged after which the final decision about the same was taken today. BCCI said that the tournament is suspended for now. Several Australian players left IPL this year considering the spread of the coronavirus in the country. Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin had to cut short his season and he decided to stay with his family members. BCCI is now in talks with the authorities to ensure a safe travel for all the foreign players.
