ICC World Test Championship: New Zealand beat India by 8 wickets:- New Zealand wins the first-ever ICC World Test Championship trophy. The test match took place in Rose Bowl Cricket Ground in England. New Zealand won the toss and they elected to bowl first. The test match was disrupted several times due to the heavy rain that lashed out the ground. India managed to get a respectable score of 217 in their first innings and New Zealand got 249 on board in their first innings. Ajinkya Rahane (49) and Virat Kohli (44) are the top scorers for the Indian side while Devon Conway (54) and Kane Williamson (49) are the top scorers for New Zealand side.

In their second innings, Indian batsmen tumbled down and they could not withstand before the pace of the New Zealand bowlers. Rishabh Pant (41) and Rohit Sharma (30) managed to get decent scores. Tim Southee (4/48) and Trent Boult (3/39) got the best numbers among the New Zealand bowlers. Chasing the target of 140, New Zealand managed to reach the target comfortably and lost two wickets. Kane Williamson (52 not out) and Ross Taylor (47 not out) completed the chase successfully. Kyle Jamieson was named as the Player of the Match. New Zealand now won the first-ever Test Championship. Speaking after the match, Indian skipper Virat Kohli said that the longest form of cricket is the heartbeat of the International cricket.
