IPL: Ahmedabad team renamed as Gujarat Titans:- Indian Premier League (IPL) will have two new teams this year and Ahmedabad team is now called as Gujarat Titans informed the franchise. Gujarat Titans is owned by CVC Capital and Hardik Pandya is the captain of the team. Gujarat Titans issued an official statement that said "Debuting in the 15th season of the IPL, Gujarat Titans will pay tribute to the state's rich cricketing legacy which has seen it produce countless Indian international cricket legends over the years. The franchise is inspired by the opportunity to represent and build on this deep cricketing heritage, as well as build on its future success on the pitch".

Gujarat Titans also signed Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill apart from Hardik Pandya. Former Indian cricketer Ashish Nehra will be the head coach and Vikram Solanki is the director of the team. Gary Kirsten is appointed as the mentor and batting coach of Gujarat Titans. The other players will be bought in the auction that will take place this month. 590 players will be auctioned and Lucknow Super Giants is the other new team that will join the IPL 2022.
