IPL 2022 to commence from March 26th:- The Indian Premier League for the year 2021 was disrupted because of the coronavirus pandemic. For this year, BCCI has grand plans and the schedule for IPL 2022 is out. Ten teams will participate in IPL 2022 and the league starts on March 26th in Mumbai and it ends on May 29th. 40 percent of the crowd will be allowed to watch the matches in the stadiums after the coronavirus cases came down gradually in the recent weeks. IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel revealed the new after completing the Governing Council meeting yesterday. Lucknow Supergiants and Gujarat Titans are the new teams added to the list. There would be 74 matches in total played in Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium and Brabourne Stadium along with Navi Mumbai's DY Patil ground and Gahunje Stadium in Pune.
The number of venues are restricted to four to avoid excessive traveling because of the pandemic. Brijesh Patel told that they may allow packed stadiums if the new cases of coronavirus continue to decline. There are talks that Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the final match and more clarity about this is expected in the coming days. The complete schedule of IPL 2022 will be out in the next two weeks. The players will commence net practice very soon. 20 matches will be held in Wankhede Stadium and DY Patil Stadium. 15 matches each will be hosted by Brabourne and Gahunje Stadiums. BCCI will announce the complete schedule at the earliest.
