Virat Kohli scores his 49th ODI Century: Equals Sachin's Record:- Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar holds a special record of having the highest number of centuries in all the formats of cricket. There was no player inching near to his record from the past few years. Indian star batsmen Virat Kohli now equaled the number of centuries of Sachin Tendulkar in ODIs after he scored his 49th ton in Eden Gardens, Kolkata last evening. When Sachni took 452 innings to score 49 centuries, Virat Kohli did it in 277 innings which is a huge record. Virat Kohli is left with accolades for his achievement. Sachin Tendulkar himself posted an appreciation message on the ocassion.

"The 49 ODI hundreds record is not my record. It is India's record. As long as it stays with India, I am happy" posted Sachin Tendulkar. He also congratulated Virat Kohli for this rare achievement. Everyone predicted that South Africa would give a tough fight for Team India but the team tumbled down for 83 in their 326 run chase in Eden Gardens. India won by 243 runs and reported their eighth win in the ICC World Cup 2023. India, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan are in the top five of the points table.
