Nadal knocked out

Third seed Rafael Nadal has been knocked out of the Australian Open. Czech Republic's Tomas Berdych stunned Nadal in straight sets with 6-2, 6-0, 7-6 [7-5] scores. This is also Berdych's first victory against Nadal since 2006 and he ended the 17 match losing streak against the Spaniard. Berdych will meet either Andy Murray or Nick Krygios in the semi-finals for a place in the Sunday's final.

Earlier in the game, Tomas Berdych broke Nadal's serve five times in the first and second set. Shockingly, Nadal did not win a single point in the second set while he made strong comeback in the third set which led to a tie breaker. However, Berdych held his nerve till the last minute and finally won the third set too.

Berdych credited his success to new coach Dani Vallverdu, who earlier worked with Andy Murray.
