Novak Djokovic Gets Disqualified From US Open For Striking A Line Judge:- World number one Novak Djokovic has been disqualified in the fourth round of the prestigious US Open yesterday after striking a line judge with a ball. The incident took place after Novak Djokovic he lost a point in the first set of his match with Pablo Carreno Busta from Spain. Novak Djokovic was frustrated enough after he lost three set points for Pablo. Pablo Carreno Busta served at 4-5, 0-40 after which Novak Djokovic suffered. The frustrated Novak Djokovic swatted the ball hard to the back of the court striking a female line judge in her throat. She fell on the ground and Novak Djokovic rushed to apologize to her.
Soeren Friemel, the referee of the tournament came out to the Arthur Ashe Stadium and spoke to Aurelie Tourte, the chair umpire and Andreas Egli, the supervisor of the Grand Slam. Novak Djokovic clarified that he had no intention to hurt the official and he surprised everyone saying "She doesn't need to go to the hospital for this". After 12 minutes, Novak Djokovic was disqualified from the tournament. The players should not physically abuse any official or a spectator or an opponent said the Grand Slam rules. Novak Djokovic walked over to shake his hands with Carreno Busta and took a quit without attending the press conference. Novak Djokovic took his Instagram handle to post an apology.
Novak Djokovic posted "This whole situation has left me really sad and empty. I checked on the lines person and the tournament told me that thank God she is feeling ok. I‘m extremely sorry to have caused her such stress. So unintended. So wrong. I’m not disclosing her name to respect her privacy. As for the disqualification, I need to go back within and work on my disappointment and turn this all into a lesson for my growth and evolution as a player and human being. I apologize for the @usopen tournament and everyone associated with my behavior. I’m very grateful to my team and family for being my rock support, and my fans for always being there with me. Thank you and I’m so sorry".
