God's particle exists!

The controversies surrounding the existence of the `God's particle', might see the light at the end of the tunnel soon. Scientists at the CERN particle physics research centre near Geneva are supposed to shed light on this decades old mystery shortly. As per a media report the group divided itself into two separate teams of "Higgs Hunters". Sources believe that this would furnish more evidence on the particle and reveal more mystics of the universe. Depending on the details, this could be a Nobel-level discovery, and could lead to re-examination of much of today's physics.

“Calling it the ‘God particle’ is completely inappropriate,” said the German physicist, who divides his time between CERN and teaching at London’s Imperial College.
“It’s not doing justice to the Higgs and what we think its role in the universe is. It has nothing to do with God.”
“Without it, or something like it, particles would just have remained whizzing around the universe at the speed of light,” said Pippa Wells, another Atlas researcher.
What is a God's particle: The God's particle or the Higgs boson is a convention delivered by a  British theoretical physicist Peter Higgs in 1969, after whom it has been named. According to the theory put forth by the physicist `it is believed to be the last missing piece to the puzzle of the so-called Standard Model. The twenty fundamental forces and particles that, in various permutations and combinations, account for everything around us like light, magnetism, gravity and all forms of matter.' Believers even today give wings to their wierd imaginations that it is the angel of creation.

When did higgs Boson believed to have appeared: The particle is to have appeared out of the Big Bang approximately 13.7 billion years ago.  It is believed that the lying debris from that primeval explosion into galaxies, stars, and planets.

Physicists around the globe believe that particle, when found, will answer why other subatomic particles weigh what they do and perhaps will open the door to explaining the mystery of gravity. It is going to shed light on the mystery behind the particle. (With inputs from internet- AW AarKay)
