Apple's iPhone 5 has not yet reached India officially but the App Store has been making its changes steadily to meet the needs of the Indian market. Starting Friday, the billing for the paid apps in the Indian rupee currency has been started.
The developer app community is the most benefited from this highly welcome move as the transparency in the billing would be highest with no need for the conversion rate problems.
The delay by a week for the shipment has caused the launch of the iPhone 5 in India to be delayed by a week; especially since Apple decided to release any product only on a Friday. Apple India spokespoerson was not willing to comment but the launch date of Nov 2 is certain.
To circumvent the regulatory requirements Apple has been launching the phones throught the master distributors Redington and Ingram Micro this time. This means that the cellular services could purchase the phones in bulk and start selling the phones to the people.
The pre-order dates from the distributors is also likely to begin in less than 2 days. Almost all Indian carriers are ready with nano SIM cards to support iPhone 5. Are you ready?
