After Mohali, it is now the turn of Mumbai to attract as yet another international figure to share the viewing spectacle of grand finale of the 2011 World Cup with a top Indian dignitary, this time the President of India Pratibha Patil.
It is now confirmed that the Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa will fly to Mumbai to watch the high profile India-Sri Lanka finals of the World Cup on Saturday. He will watch the match from a VIP enclosure sitting along Pratibha Patil.
The Mohali India- Pakistan semi final encounter was watched together by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani who have successfully mixed cricket with diplomacy.
Reports said that Pratibha has been following the game very keenly and had even watched the India-Pakistan semi-final match.
Meanwhile, reports from Colombo said that the Sri Lankan President has asked the Lankan team to win the World Cup as a tribute to Muttiah Muralitharan who will retire from international cricket after this World Cup.
