Chance for Young Players to grow up

suresh-rainaThe absence of senior players for India tour of West Indies provides Suresh Raina to take over the responsibility as India’s Captain for the limited-overs leg.

It's a great opportunity for the youngsters who have done well in domestic cricket," said Suresh Raina at the team’s departure for the WI on Tuesday.

Raina, I led India as a captain in the past, for a tri-series Zimbabwe in May-June 2010, but i can’t able to handle the pressure at the time and we performed poorly on that tour.

This time, India is without the services of senior players like Sachin, Yuvraj, Shewag, Gautam and M.S. Dhoni for the duo T20 matches and the five ODIs.

He said, he looked forward to working with the young players, but cautioned against complacency. We knew how difficult to beat, team playing at home. We should not be complacent. There is a lot of talent in India and my job is to prepare these young players.

India’s tour of West Indies T20 matches will start on Friday in Port of Spain.
