Seniors climb up the ICC ladder for batting excellence

The senior’s pair V V S Laxman and Rahul Dravid has been in news since the beginning of the West Indies series. They have lit the oval on fire by their proven batting prowess in the first two tests against the Caribbean’s. Both the players played for the benefit of the teams and were awarding the nation with a series win, apart from the morale booster given to the disheartened cricket fanatics of this country.

Dravid scored a brilliant 119 while Laxman made an unbeaten 176 during Kolkatta match, which placed them tenth and thirteenth place on the ICC rankings respectively.

The other Indian in the top 10 is Sachin Tendulkar, who with an aggregate of 796 points remains at the fifth position in the list which is being headed by Sri Lanka's Kumara Sangakkara.

Pragyan Ojha is the main mover in the ICC Player Rankings for Test bowlers as the left-arm slow bowler gains six places to 26th position, the highest ranking of his career to date, with his massive wicket haul at the Eden Gardens.
