Darker side of IPL: IT at Pune Warrior doorsteps

Indian Premier League the luxury form of entertaining cricket has been hogged as the most expensive game the country. The fifth installment of the games has been in the news for all wrong reasons. The spot fixing scam unearthed by creative and probing journos seems to have devastated the expectations of an average Indian fan.  As per latest reports the Income tax officials are at the door steps of the Pune Warriors India office.

The enquiry is in response to a sting operation conducted by national TV channel India TV had turned as a whistle blower on spot fixing prevailing in the game. As per the operation, players allegedly took money for spot-fixing during the IPL matches. IT officials said that the players, figuring in the sting operations, might be questioned.

In its official press release, the BCCI announced that the entire footage of the 'sting operation' would be sought and examined thoroughly. The IPL Governing Council would also meet on an emergency basis to review the footage and take an appropriate action. In an `intolerable’ tone the BCCI also said that the governing council will also be looking into the depths of the matter. BCCI also informed that any violation of regulations or any act of corruption would be severely dealt.   (With Inputs from Internet- Aarkay)
